The Laredo International Airport is a key infrastructure element in the region's connectivity, standing out for its capacity to handle both commercial and cargo flights, with facilities equipped with advanced technology and three runways to meet flight demand.

Four commercial airlines operate at the airport: Aerus, Allegiant, American Airlines, and United Airlines, with destinations including Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Las Vegas, México City, and others. Additionally, the cargo airlines FedEx and UPS operate at the airport.

In addition to facilitating passenger and cargo transport, the airport has become a professional hub supporting the aviation industry.

Although Laredo does not have direct access to the sea, it benefits from maritime connectivity due to its proximity to major ports in Texas, such as the ports of Harlingen and Brownsville. It also has direct access to the port of Corpus Christi via the Texas-México Railway Highway, located 156 miles away, and to Houston, 301 miles away.

On the Mexican side, the closest ports are located in Altamira (445 miles away) and Mazatlán (651 miles away).

Laredo serves as a key node in the rail network, with the presence of two major companies: Kansas City Southern de México (KCSM) and Union Pacific, both of which facilitate cross-border trade and goods distribution between Mexico and the United States.

The Laredo International Rail Bridge is essential for the trade of goods, as it directly connects to the Mexican rail system. It is one of the most important logistics hubs in cross-border trade. Laredo is Union Pacific's number one rail interchange point at the border. In 2023, it handled over 305,440 railcar shipments between Mexico and the U.S.
