Reynosa makes history with the largest Wind Power Park in Mexico
By Government of the State of Tamaulipas

Without doubt Tamaulipas is the State that is growing
in matter of renewable energy and in an historic act, the Energization of the
Reynosa I Wind Power Park, considered the largest in Mexico and one of the
largest in Latin America.
THE RENEWABLE ENERGIES
GENERATION INFRASTRUCTURE AN ENGINE FOR DEVELOPMENT
Adrian Katsew, general
director of Zuma Energia, said on his message that the Energization of the Reynosa I Wind Power
Park will allow connecting this large Park with the national network of
transmission and thus contribute in an important manner with clean and
competitive energy as each one of the wind turbines are energized.
This proves that
renewable energies generation infrastructure is a development engine,
particularly in usually remote regions, including the improvement of logistic
conditions nearby the construction activity, as well as the infrastructure of
the neighboring communities.
“Currently, Tamaulipas
is the State with the most wind power activity in Mexico and renewable energies
are strategic to guarantee our energy science and essential to accomplish goals
we have settled as country,” said the director of Zuma Energy.
TAMAULIPAS SHAPES
EXCEPTIONAL WIND POWER CORRIDORS TO FAVOR THE INSTALLATION OF WIND GENERATORS
Pedro Joaquin Coldwell, secretary of Energy in Mexico, shared interesting
data about clean energy generation infrastructure growth in Mexico; and is just
that pace has being accelerated, he underlined that in 2012 the percentage of
capability installed at clean centrals was of 25 % of the total of the electric
national system, and by the end of this six years period will reach 32 %.
He also said that in
the wind power sector the rhythm of development of new centrals has increased
and the current capability has triplicated regarding what was at the beginning
of the six years period, reaching the 4 thousand 200 megawatts.
THE LARGEST WIND POWER PARK ON
ITS TYPE IN LATIN AMERICA ARRIVED TO REYNOSA
The project has 123
