The Rio Grande Valley Binational Region has three strategically located ports: Brownsville, Harlingen, and Matamoros, the latter currently under construction. Thanks to the existing infrastructure in this region, goods, supplies, and materials can be shipped to any part of North America, Latin America, Europe, or Asia through local structures. One example is the Port of Brownsville in Brownsville, Texas, which operates as a multimodal or direct logistical scheme capable of transporting various fuels, construction materials, aluminum, wire, iron, food, and other products from international companies.
