Between Roma and Brownsville, the distance is 115 miles, around two hours of travel.

Class I railroads operate in this region. Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) offers services in northeastern and central and shares interchange points with Ferromex and Ferrosur rail companies; Union Pacific operates through two major border crossings; and BNSF Railway provides an extensive network across North America. Additionally, the Matamoros-Brownsville rail corridor, known as the "West End Rail," facilitates the exchange of goods between Atlantic and Pacific ports through and the United States.
