Woodgenix, Steelex and SITEX inaugurate their production plants in Yucatan

As a positive effect and a clear sign of the benefit of nearshoring, foreign companies are coming to invest in Yucatan , while other companies continue to show their confidence and expand their operating plants.

An example of expansion is the Woodgenix company , which opened its third operations plant in Yucatan, this in the municipality of San Bernardino, Seyé police station, where the investment was 110 million pesos .

Woodgenix  is ​​of Chinese origin, and will generate more than 700 jobs for the municipalities of Bokobá, Hocabá, Hoctún, Huhí, Izamal, Sanahcat, Tahmek, Tixkokob, Tixpéhual, Xocchel and Seyé. The company is dedicated to the production of ready-to-assemble kitchen cabinets; in fact, this company is a supplier of kitchens for Disney hotels .

The ceremony was attended by Mauricio Vila, Governor of Yucatan, who stressed that they continue to promote the state and attract more international companies that generate more and better jobs, which transform the quality of life of Yucatecan families.

Ernesto Herrera Novelo, Secretary of Economic Development and Labor (Sefoet) of Yucatan, mentioned at the inauguration of Woodgenix , that this is one of the 260 investment projects of companies from the United States, China, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Spain, England and France, who see Yucatan as a gateway to North and Central America.

The Chinese company produces in three plants installed in Yucatan, integrated kitchens for the resorts of the  Disney chain and luxury hotel and department consortiums, such  as Home Depot in the United States. However, the Chinese company has plans to continue expanding its presence in Yucatan with the construction of a fourth plant of 35,000 square meters in 2023.

STEELEX

It is a Yucatecan company specialized in aluminum and metal structures located in Kanasín. With the opening of this operations plant, more than 600 jobs are being created for the families of that municipality, Mérida, Acanceh and Umán.

Steelex  is a leader in the Mexican southeast in the design, manufacture and installation of metallic structures and steel products . The project for this plant had an investment of 1,500 million pesos .

There, 5,000 tons will be produced monthly, in its 145,000 square meters of productive area; It has 6,000 square meters of corporate space, 45,000 square meters of automated and robotic production area and 95,000 square meters of maneuvering and finished product yard.

Very advanced computer systems for structural calculation, engineering and structural models are used in this plant , which are connected to numerical control machines, forming an active part in what is now known as Industry 4.0.

SITEX

Also, in the municipality of Tekantó, the Integral Services company (SITEX) was inaugurated, where 150 people work.

SITEX focuses its production on the manufacture of garments that are sold in supermarkets and department stores throughout the country. According to schedule, in September it will reach an installed capacity of 100,000 units per month.
