With more than a decade of experience, Forum Commercial Real Estate (Forum CRE) has established itself as a key player in industrial and commercial real estate brokerage in South Texas and is now advancing its expansion into Northeast Mexico. With offices in San Antonio, McAllen, and Nuevo Laredo—the latter inaugurated earlier this year—the firm aims to support industrial development and attract investment to the Tamaulipas border region.
Energy Expansion and Investment Attraction on the Border
The expansion of energy and logistics infrastructure, along with the entry of new players in the manufacturing ecosystem, will mark a new stage in the development of Nuevo Laredo, stated Carlos Montoya, Vice President and Partner of Forum CRE in Mexico.
“The goal is to contribute Forum’s resources and structure to the growth of Nuevo Laredo. We want to help attract investment and generate a competitive and sustainable environment for the industry,” Montoya said.
He highlighted strategic projects that are set to reshape the city's industrial landscape. One key project is the construction of a 60 MVA electrical substation in the Oradel Industrial Park, scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2026, addressing one of the region’s most critical challenges: energy availability.
“This private substation will ensure reliable energy for companies, representing a decisive value-add for manufacturing operations seeking operational certainty,” he explained.
Boost to the Regional Industrial Ecosystem
Montoya noted that, similar to 25 years ago—when the construction of energy infrastructure drove the expansion of the industrial corridor toward the World Trade Bridge—this new project will help catalyze a new wave of organic growth for the city.
He emphasized that Forum CRE’s mission is to support companies seeking to establish operations on either side of the border, strengthening the integrated regional industrial ecosystem.
“We help provide soft-landing services for industries looking to establish operations in the border region, whether in Northern Mexico or South Texas,” he concluded.
During his participation in the Index Nuevo Laredo Forum 2025, Montoya highlighted the importance of this event as the only space that brings together partners, suppliers, and key stakeholders from the export manufacturing industry.
