The technological transformation taking place in the trucking industry is leading companies to rethink their operations and seek new alternatives to maintain their competitiveness.

For Grupo Trancasa, this evolution represents both a challenge and an opportunity to incorporate new tools, analyze operating costs, and develop services that go beyond freight transportation.

During his participation in the third edition of the Pharr Truck Expo, Carlos Canales, Chairman of Grupo Trancasa, highlighted the importance of these events for learning about new industry trends and analyzing what transportation companies can do to evolve.

“There is a major change taking place in transportation when it comes to technology,” Canales said, citing the arrival of electric trucks on the market as an example.

According to the executive, the incorporation of new technologies requires companies to remain attentive and adapt quickly in a sector where operating costs have an increasingly significant impact on profitability.

Technology as a competitiveness strategy

Canales explained that Trancasa maintains a constant interest in exploring technological solutions that can be incorporated into its operations.

One of the developments the company is closely following is electric trucks, a technology that is currently undergoing a process of evolution within the transportation industry.

Although he acknowledged that these types of vehicles are not yet fully autonomous, he said Trancasa is considering the possibility of testing this technology to gain firsthand knowledge of its performance and later evaluate its incorporation into operations.

“We are looking at ways to test one, test that technology, and once we have tested it, put it into operation,” he explained.

For Trancasa’s CEO, the speed at which technology is evolving requires companies to be prepared to adapt.

“Transportation is like phones: something new comes out and you have to adapt quickly, because if you don’t adapt quickly, you disappear,” he said.

Beyond transportation

Trancasa’s strategy also includes expanding the scope of its services to offer customers a comprehensive supply chain solution.

In addition to freight transportation, the company offers warehousing and inventory management services, with the goal of enabling its customers to centralize different processes under a single platform.

Canales highlighted that this integration represents an advantage in a market where numerous companies are dedicated exclusively to transportation.

“I have always said that transportation becomes more important when you offer the entire supply chain,” he said.

The model includes services ranging from freight transportation between Mexico and the United States to warehousing, inventory control, inbound and outbound management, and information generation for customers.

A single ecosystem for the supply chain

For Trancasa, integrating these services makes it possible to build a logistics ecosystem that provides greater visibility and control over goods.

The company seeks to differentiate itself by offering, under a single brand, services covering different stages of the supply chain, from Mexico to the United States.

The goal is for customers to have not only a company responsible for transporting their products, but also a partner capable of supporting them in warehousing, inventory, and distribution processes.

In an environment where technology is rapidly transforming the trucking industry, Trancasa believes that adaptability and service integration will be determining factors in maintaining the competitiveness of companies in the sector.
