A benefit was implemented for empty commercial truck crossings at the Anzalduas Bridge , by allowing Reynosa Customs a new hours of operation.

The McAllen bridge system broke this news involving extended hours operations for empty commercial trucks heading south at the Anzalduas International Bridge.

The hours of operation will be from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm from Monday to Friday; however, the additional hours are intended to decongest and facilitate the rapid flow of empty southbound commercial traffic.

PREFERRED CORRIDOR FOR COMMERCIAL TRAFFIC

With trade between the United States and Mexico boosting the economy between the two nations, the extended hours of operation will further solidify the Anzalduas International Bridge as the preferred corridor for empty southbound commercial traffic.

“The extended hours of operation for empty southbound commercial trucks is just the next step for the bridge to become a fully operational commercial crossing, thus boosting the economy on both sides and further strengthening the link between McAllen and Reynosa. , Texas and Tamaulipas, and the US and Mexico as great commercial partners, ”said McAllen Mayor Jim Darling.

The increasing demand for empty commercial traffic to the south was the inspiration behind the request of the McAllen Bridge System to Mexican Customs. With the Anzalduas International Bridge strategically designed to serve as a connection between the active industrial parks located in Reynosa, the demand to facilitate traffic to the south led to the extension of the hours of operation for empty business hours to the south.

The extended hours of operation for empty southbound commercial trucks at the Anzalduas International Bridge is a binational achievement made possible by collaboration between the US and Mexico.

“The Anzalduas International Bridge is a regional economic engine driven by international trade and fueled by collaboration with our partners in Mexico,” said McAllen City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodríguez.

"Thanks to the partnership with Mexican Customs, the extended hours at the Anzalduas International Bridge solidify a stronger economy in the Rio Grande Valley," he said.

“We are delighted to announce additional hours of operation to the south for empty truck traffic, I would personally like to extend an invitation to commercial truck drivers traveling south to cross the Anzalduas International Bridge because we can help them pass faster, ”said Juan Olaguibel, Anzalduas Bridge Superintendent.

The Anzalduas International Bridge began receiving empty southbound commercial vehicles in August 2016 after submitting a request to the US and Mexican federal governments.
