During his participation at the Southern Border Conference, Luis Bazán, General Director of the Pharr International Bridge, highlighted the importance of strengthening border infrastructure and collaborating with the logistics chain to maintain the region’s foreign trade dynamism.

Bazán noted that the Pharr Bridge maintains a close relationship with the Mid Valley Customs Brokers Association, composed of customs brokers from the Rio Grande Valley, and stressed that these forums reaffirm joint commitment in the face of current geoeconomic challenges.

“Being here today is not only to continue this collaboration, but also because many dilemmas and global changes directly impact foreign trade. We continue moving forward by investing in infrastructure and in our region,” he said.

The director of the international crossing emphasized that the bridge expansion is currently under construction, a project that will double operational capacity and allow greater agility in the flow of cargo trucks. He also announced that two strategic internal modernization projects will be completed next year to increase efficiency in customs operations.

Bazán assured that these investments are designed to provide direct benefits to carriers, customs brokers, and the entire supply chain.

“In the end, what we seek is to make processes more efficient, reduce unnecessary steps within the port, and work hand in hand with the federal government to achieve it. This infrastructure represents the future and sustainability of our region,” he stated.

The participation of the Pharr International Bridge in the Southern Border Conference reaffirms its role as a strategic player in foreign trade and a driver of competitiveness for the Rio Grande Valley.
