The city of San Antonio is reaffirming its position as one of the leading manufacturing centers in the southern United States, promoting international collaboration and business connections within the framework of the North America Manufacturing Expo & Summit.

This was highlighted by Dan Yoxall, President and CEO of the San Antonio Manufacturers Association (SAMA), who emphasized that events like this help consolidate industrial integration between Mexico, Texas, and the rest of North America.

“This event has brought together manufacturers, service companies, and key stakeholders from Mexico, South Texas, and across the country, reflecting the international nature of manufacturing and how we are part of the same community,” he said.

Industrial diversity and historical strength

In an interview with México Industry, Yoxall explained that the region has a highly diversified industrial base, including sectors such as aerospace, transportation, plastics, wood, food and beverage, as well as oil and gas.

With more than 100 years of history, San Antonio has been a key point for manufacturing development in Texas, driven by its strategic location and relationship with Mexico and South Texas.

Advantages for investment and business expansion

The association leader highlighted that the region offers competitive conditions for companies, especially those interested in expanding into the United States, thanks to its skilled workforce, land availability, logistics infrastructure, and connectivity with border crossings and the Gulf of Mexico.

He also emphasized the role of Port San Antonio as a key asset for industry, supporting logistics and manufacturing operations.

SAMA Trade Show 2026: an industry meeting point

As part of its industrial strengthening strategy, the association announced its Trade Show & Conference, scheduled for May 6 in San Antonio, considered one of the leading manufacturing gatherings in South Texas.

The event will bring together more than 170 exhibitors and is expected to attract around 2,000 attendees, including companies from Mexico, Texas, and other regions of the United States.

“It will be a full-day event focused on generating business, connecting buyers and suppliers, and strengthening relationships within the manufacturing sector,” he explained.

This edition will mark the 25th consecutive year of the event, consolidating it as a key platform for developing business opportunities and strengthening supply chains in the region.

SAMA’s participation in these types of forums, along with its organization of high-level industry gatherings, reflects San Antonio’s dynamism as a strategic node in North American manufacturing, where binational collaboration continues to serve as a driver of growth.
