The Port of Brownsville reinforced its leadership in trade and logistics during Breakbulk Americas 2025, the largest and longest-running event for the project cargo and breakbulk industry in the region.

Held in Houston, the forum gathered decision-makers and companies from across the supply chain, offering an ideal platform to explore opportunities in a booming energy and infrastructure market.

Port of Brownsville: driving connectivity and growth

Represented by Commissioner Sergio Tito Lopez, Deputy Port Director of Operations Arturo Gómez I., and Director of Business Development & Marketing Guillermo Rico-Leal, the Port of Brownsville highlighted its capabilities and expansion plans at Exhibit Booth K30.

The delegation emphasized the Port’s role as a key logistics hub for North America, connecting Mexico, the United States, and global markets through competitive infrastructure and multimodal services.

As the only deepwater seaport located on the U.S.-Mexico border, the Port of Brownsville continues to strengthen its position as a gateway for industrial growth, energy projects, and binational trade.

Breakbulk Americas: the place where projects take shape

Breakbulk Americas has become the meeting point for industry leaders seeking new opportunities in energy, heavy industry, and manufacturing projects. The 2025 edition gathered representatives from Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and Latin America, creating more than just connections — it provided a stage for long-term partnerships.

For Brownsville, participation in the event reinforced its role as a strategic partner for companies seeking efficient logistics solutions in North America, while also positioning the Port as a driver of cross-border competitiveness.

A gateway to binational opportunities

Through its presence at Breakbulk Americas, the Port of Brownsville showcased not only its infrastructure and connectivity, but also its commitment to fostering economic integration.

With Houston as host — the nation’s largest port for waterborne tonnage — the event underlined the importance of regional collaboration in advancing the future of trade and investment across the Americas.
