Handling over 15,000 daily crossings, Laredo is far more than a border checkpoint—it is a continental logistics command center, a trusted bridge between nations, and a key driver of nearshoring strategies for industries across North America.
Five Pillars Powering Port Laredo’s Global Competitiveness
- Five Presidential Permits Approved (2020–2025): Enabling bridge expansions and upgraded inspection facilities to streamline cross-border trade.
- Joint Inspections Across Three Modes: Coordinated CBP and SAT operations at bridges, the international airport, and certified cold-chain zones.
- Smartshoring Zones Activated: Industrial parks with binational labor access and certified infrastructure for manufacturing and logistics.
- Multimodal Infrastructure Expansion: Ongoing improvements to rail, bridges, and the international airport through 2025.
- Binational Resilience Command Center: Featuring digital customs systems, Foreign Trade Zone 94, and interconnected multimodal corridors.
