Pharr to Host Free Workshop on Federal Contracting Opportunities for Small Businesses

Small business owners interested in expanding into the federal marketplace will have the opportunity to attend a free training session in Pharr focused on government contracting certifications and business development opportunities.
The Women-Owned Small Business and HUBZone Program workshop will take place on July 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Pharr Global Business Hub, located at 301 S. Cage Blvd. in Pharr, Texas.
The session will be presented by the UTRGV APEX Accelerator in collaboration withthe U.S. Small Business Administration, the Pharr Economic Development Corporation, and the UTRGV Entrepreneurship & Commercialization Center.
During the workshop, participants will receive an overview of the Women-Owned Small Business, or WOSB, program and the HUBZone program. Both initiatives are designed to help eligible companies compete more effectively for federal contracts and increase their visibility among government agencies.
Attendance is free, but advance registration is required.

The training will cover eligibility requirements, key qualification criteria, the application and certification process, and ways these certifications can support a broader government contracting strategy.
Participants will also learn how federal certifications may help businesses compete for set-aside contracts, strengthen their positioning in the government marketplace, and create new long-term growth opportunities.
The event is intended for small business owners, entrepreneurs, and companies seeking to better understand the federal procurement process and determine whether the WOSB or HUBZone programs align with their business goals.
