With the participation of leaders from the manufacturing sector, representatives of business organizations, speakers, municipal authorities, and the presence of Index Nacional Director Jael Durán, the Third Index Nuevo Laredo Forum was held, consolidating itself as one of the most important meeting points for the manufacturing and export industry along the border.
During the inauguration, Enrique Morán, President of Index Nuevo Laredo, highlighted that the forum is a space where ideas, knowledge, and collaboration converge with a common purpose: strengthening competitiveness and building the future of the industry together.
“This event allows us to share experiences and create synergies that boost companies, strengthen the ecosystem, and make our economic environment more solid,” Morán stated in his welcome remarks.
The industry leader emphasized that Nuevo Laredo plays a fundamental role in the country’s economic development, as a strategic border that moves not only goods, but also ideas, technology, and the future. According to shared data, the municipality’s exports reached $4.872 billion in 2024, representing a 5.24% increase compared to the previous year.
Likewise, in the state of Tamaulipas, the manufacturing, maquiladora, and export services sector employs more than 240,000 people, equivalent to 7.4% of the national total. “Behind these numbers, there is talent, families, and a major value chain pushing Mexico forward,” he added.
The forum addressed five strategic pillars for industrial development: talent management, economy, foreign trade, cybersecurity, and environmental responsibility—topics that, according to Morán, “define the sustainability, competitiveness, and social responsibility of our sector.”
“Nuevo Laredo is ready to continue being a protagonist in Mexico’s economic development. We are a border city. We are talent. We are innovation,” Morán affirmed.
With a message of unity and shared vision, the Third Index Nuevo Laredo Forum reaffirmed the manufacturing industry’s commitment to progress, innovation, and opportunity creation—strengthening competitiveness in northern Tamaulipas and across the country.
