The Laredo International Airport in Texas has announced a new direct flight to Monterrey, Nuevo León, operated by the airline Aerus. The route offers two daily flights from Monday to Friday (Laredo-Monterrey and Monterrey-Laredo), totaling 40 monthly frequencies.
This new route, with an approximate flight time of 50 minutes, adds to the existing direct flights available at Laredo Airport. These include destinations such as Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles (seasonal summer flights), operated by Allegiant, American Airlines, and United Airlines.
The inclusion of Monterrey as an air travel destination highlights the city’s significance as an industrial and commercial hub in Mexico, airport officials emphasized during the inauguration of the new route. They also pointed out that this move reinforces Laredo’s position as a strategic border hub with high volumes of international trade traffic.
In 2025, plans are in place to expand routes to additional destinations in Mexico from Laredo International Airport. This initiative aims to strengthen connections between the two countries, foster commercial relationships, and promote economic development. The project seeks to enhance the region’s transportation infrastructure while increasing air connectivity options and business opportunities.
