DSV has opened a new 853,000-square-foot logistics facility in Laredo, Texas, strengthening its cross-border operations and offering integrated solutions for supply chains between Mexico and the United States.

The complex was designed to consolidate warehousing, transportation, customs brokerage, order fulfillment, inventory management and distribution services under one roof, with the goal of streamlining operations for companies engaged in North American trade.

According to the global transport and logistics company, the facility represents a strategic gateway for businesses seeking to improve the speed, visibility and efficiency of their cross-border operations.

“Our Laredo facility is a milestone in DSV’s strategy to lead with innovation and scale,” said Josh Summers, CEO of Contract Logistics for North America, highlighting the company’s commitment to developing more agile logistics solutions for its customers.

Integrating Customs Services in Mexico and the United States

One of the key features of the new facility is the integration of customs services for both countries. The complex offers northbound U.S. customs services and on-site Mexican customs processing, capabilities designed to facilitate the movement of freight across the border and support compliance with trade requirements.

The operation also incorporates road transportation, contract logistics, customs brokerage and trade compliance services. This integrated service model allows customers to consolidate multiple supply chain needs with a single provider.

Thomas Christensen, Managing Director and COO of Air & Sea for the United States, noted that the growing complexity of supply chains requires partners capable of integrating transportation, warehousing, customs clearance and order fulfillment.

"The opening of our Laredo facility represents a significant commitment to the future of North American logistics," Thomas said, "As supply chains become increasingly complex, customers need a trusted partner capable of providing seamless transportation, warehousing, customs clearance, and fulfillment services. Our new Laredo operation delivers exactly that."

Technology and Distribution for Multiple Channels

The facility features omnichannel fulfillment capabilities for e-commerce distribution, warehouse management systems (WMS), cross-docking operations and SKU-level order fulfillment.

It also offers pallet and master-case racking, inventory management, and short- and long-term storage options under bonded warehouse and Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) programs.

These capabilities allow the facility to meet a range of warehousing and distribution needs, from freight handling to order preparation and delivery.

The opening expands DSV’s operational infrastructure along one of the most important trade corridors between Mexico and the United States. With this facility, the company aims to meet the needs of businesses seeking more integrated cross-border operations and more efficient supply chains across the North American market.
