The McAllen Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) recently welcomed representatives from a manufacturing company interested in establishing operations in McAllen as part of an expansion effort to meet the growing demand from U.S. customers.

This visit is part of MEDC's ongoing investment attraction efforts, working in collaboration with key institutions in education and workforce development, including South Texas College (STC), TMAC, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), and Workforce Solutions.

During the visit, company representatives had the opportunity to explore the region’s technical and academic capabilities, particularly in areas of specialized training and talent development. The meeting took place at STC’s facilities, an institution known for its focus on workforce training.

The event featured Dr. Ricardo Solis, President of South Texas College, and Dr. Carlos L. Margo, Dean of the Advanced Training and Learning Center at STC, who highlighted the programs and strategic partnerships that have helped create a strong network of technical and professional training.

The MEDC emphasizes that projects like this are crucial for the sustainable economic growth of McAllen and the entire Rio South Texas region, offering a unique combination of talent, infrastructure, and collaborative efforts that strengthen the area as a key player in manufacturing and economic development.
