McAllen receives $6 million grant for industrial park project

The City of McAllen has received a $6 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration to support its Industrial Park Project.

The announcement was made during a visit to the GE Aerospace plant in McAllen. U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz, McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos and City Manager Isaac Tawil participated in the event.

De La Cruz also confirmed the announcement through her official social media, where she highlighted her visit to GE Aerospace alongside Secretary Lutnick and the allocation of $6 million in EDA funding for the City of McAllen Industrial Park.

The grant represents an important federal investment in McAllen’s industrial development and economic growth.
