In a trade mission organized by the Mexican Entrepreneurs Association (AEM) in collaboration with the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment, and Technology (COMCE) for the southern region, Mexican industrial and commercial entrepreneurs from Veracruz, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Puebla, Yucatán, Quintana Roo, Tlaxcala, and Jalisco gathered to explore the investment potential in McAllen, Texas. The meeting, aimed at fostering new business ties, was led by Susie Flores, Director of U.S. Business Recruitment for the McAllen Economic Development Corporation (McAllen EDC), who highlighted the numerous opportunities the city offers, particularly in manufacturing and logistics.

“We are a strategic ally for establishing businesses. We can assist in setting up any project, no matter how small. McAllen EDC has experts who can guide you, and we maintain very prosperous relationships with other chambers of commerce and local authorities to address all your concerns,” said Flores.

Flores further discussed McAllen’s competitive advantages, emphasizing the efficiency of foreign trade processes and the tax incentives available to potential investors.

Since its founding in 1988, McAllen EDC has played a key role in the establishment of 726 companies, the expansion of 866 businesses, and the creation of over 244,000 formal jobs in the region. Flores emphasized the city's many competitive advantages, including available land, a skilled workforce, infrastructure, and its strategic connectivity with Mexico, positioning McAllen as part of a larger binational community.

We are learning about the various competitive advantages they offer, including the warmth and support provided to entrepreneurs. We hope to formalize our alliance soon to mutually benefit both sides,” Lombard stated.
