Hyundai joins IONITY to improve charging network for electric vehicles

Hyundai Motor Group joined IONITY , Europe's leading high-power charging network, as a strategic partner and shareholder.
The corporate, including the Hyundai and KIA brands, will drive the expansion of the high-power charging network, promoting greater adoption of zero-emission mobility.
The IONITY charging network uses the European charging standard CCS (Combined Charging System) . Since the network uses 100% renewable energy, electric vehicle drivers can not only travel emission-free, but also CO2-neutral.
Thomas Schemera, Executive Vice President and Head of Product Division, Hyundai Motor Group, commented that for Hyundai and KIA product and customer experience is related to convenience and real benefits.

IONITY builds and operates a high-power charging network (HPC) along European roads, using state-of-the-art technology with a charging capacity of up to 350 kW . By doing so, drivers of current and future generations of electric vehicles, using the leading European CCS charging standard , benefit from maximum charging speeds while taking a break from their journey.
Each station load IONITY consists of an average of 4 load points. As a commitment to sustainability, all IONITY chargers deliver 100% renewable energy for emission-free and carbon-neutral driving.
IONITY was founded in 2017 and is a joint venture of the BMW Group, Mercedes Benz AG, Ford Motor Company, Hyundai Motor Group and Volkswagen Group with Audi and Porsche.
