Greater Brownsville Economic Development Corporation reinforced its position within the aerospace sector through its participation in the 41st Space Symposium, one of the most influential gatherings of the global space industry.

Held from April 13–16, 2026, in Colorado Springs, the event brings together thousands of leaders from government, commercial space companies, military, and research institutions, serving as a central platform for business development, industry alignment, and high-level networking across the global space ecosystem.

Brownsville strengthens its role in the evolving space economy

Participation in the symposium reflects the growing relevance of the Greater Brownsville region within the U.S. aerospace landscape. As space activity continues to expand—driven by both public and private investment—regions capable of supporting launch, manufacturing, and supply chain operations are gaining strategic importance.

By maintaining a presence at events of this scale, Greater Brownsville EDC continues to position the region alongside key industry players, reinforcing its visibility in conversations tied to future aerospace investment and development.

The symposium itself functions not only as a conference, but as a marketplace for ideas, partnerships, and projects, where companies and institutions actively pursue opportunities tied to innovation, infrastructure, and commercialization of space technologies.

Alignment with Texas’ broader space strategy

During the event, Greater Brownsville EDC connected with Norman Garza Jr., Executive Director of the Texas Space Commission, highlighting ongoing coordination at the state level to advance Texas’ space ecosystem.

This alignment is particularly relevant as Texas continues to expand its footprint in the aerospace sector, supported by assets such as launch sites, research capabilities, and a growing network of companies linked to space-related activities.

For Brownsville, these engagements contribute to a broader strategy focused on attracting investment, strengthening industry relationships, and reinforcing the region’s role within a sector that is becoming increasingly competitive and globally integrated.
