Linde’s new plant in Brownsville marks a major step for clean energy and industrial innovation, made possible by the strategic support of the Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (GBIC).

Linde, a global leader in the production and supply of industrial gases, has announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art plant in Brownsville, Texas. This strategic expansion was made possible in large part thanks to the ongoing support of the Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (GBIC), which has played a key role from the early stages of planning.

GBIC provided critical support in site selection, regulatory guidance, and permitting processes while also facilitating connections with local partners to ensure a smooth and sustainable market entry. These efforts have helped lay a strong foundation for long-term success.

Linde Strengthens Brownsville’s Advanced Manufacturing Position

Linde serves a wide range of sectors—including energy, manufacturing, chemicals, and healthcare—and is at the forefront of clean energy innovation. The company is actively involved in hydrogen production, carbon capture, and sustainable industrial technologies. Its new facility in Brownsville will further position the city as a hub for industrial innovation and advanced manufacturing.

The Brownsville plant will supply liquid oxygen, nitrogen, and argon to support the aerospace operations of its clients in the region. The facility is expected to become operational in the first quarter of 2026.

A Regional Milestone for Clean Energy and Economic Development

“Supporting transformative projects like Linde is at the core of our mission,” said Gilberto Salinas, CEO of GBIC. “We are committed to creating the conditions for businesses to succeed in Brownsville—whether by identifying strategic opportunities, easing market entry, or building long-term partnerships. We’re proud to be part of this milestone and excited for what’s ahead.”

With this project, GBIC reinforces its role as a key driver of regional economic development by attracting high-impact investments that generate jobs, fuel innovation, and elevate Brownsville’s position on the global map of advanced manufacturing.
