GBIC Elevates Brownsville’s Leadership in Space Innovation at the YTexas Summit 2026

Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (GBIC) strengthened Brownsville’s position as a rising force in Texas’ aerospace economy through its participation in the YTexas Summit 2026: Texas Innovative Showcase, held at Texas A&M University in College Station.
The event brought together leaders from across the state to discuss transformative industries shaping Texas’ future—including the rapidly advancing commercialization of space.
Representing Brownsville, Mayor John Cowen joined a high-level panel presented by GBIC titled “The State Impact of the Commercialization of Space.” The conversation explored how Texas’ expanding space ecosystem is generating new opportunities for innovation, workforce development, and long-term economic growth.
