Gilberto Salinas, President and CEO of the Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (GBIC), has been selected for the Texas 100: Influential Pros to Know for 2026, a statewide recognition by Texas Business Journals spotlighting professionals whose leadership is expected to shape Texas’s economic and business landscape in the coming year.
The list brings together influential figures from across industries, highlighting individuals whose work is driving growth, innovation, and community impact throughout the state. Salinas’s inclusion places Brownsville’s economic development efforts among those gaining increased visibility across Texas.
At GBIC, Salinas oversees initiatives focused on business attraction, job creation, and long-term investment, positioning Brownsville as a competitive destination for industry and innovation. His leadership has helped elevate the region’s profile while strengthening partnerships at the local, regional, and state levels.
Salinas has earned national and statewide recognition for his work in economic development, including being named one of North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers and a DCI 40 Under 40 Rising Star. He has also served in key advisory roles, including appointments to the Texas Aerospace & Aviation Advisory Committee and the Texas Education Agency’s charter school oversight committee.
“I’m proud to represent Brownsville and the collaborative work being done to expand economic opportunity in our community,” Salinas said, noting that the recognition reflects broader regional progress rather than individual achievement.
The Texas 100 designation reinforces Brownsville’s growing role in Texas’s economic future and highlights the impact of strategic, community-focused leadership.
