GBIC Celebrates Holiday Meeting, Reflecting on Achievements and Future Growth

In the city of Brownsville, Texas, the Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (GBIC) held its traditional holiday celebration, an event that brought together business leaders, local authorities, real estate developers, and representatives from various chambers and organizations across the region.
This gathering served as a space to recognize the progress and achievements made throughout 2024, as well as to strengthen the ties that continue to drive Brownsville’s economic growth.
During the celebration, GBIC presented awards to companies and projects in various categories. The “Outstanding Community Impact” award was given to SA Recycling for its positive impact on the community. SpaceX received the “Innovative Partner Award” for its innovation and collaboration with the region, while Teleperformance was honored as the “Economic Growth Champion” for its contribution to local economic growth.
The “Partnership Excellence Award” was presented to BISD Adult Continuing Education for its excellence in educational collaboration, and finally, STX Metal Trades was recognized as “Entrepreneur of the Year” for its outstanding work in the business sector.
Gilberto Salinas, CEO of GBIC, delivered a speech highlighting the team’s continuous efforts to position Brownsville as a strategic destination for investment. “The best promoter of investment and development in our region is the team that makes up GBIC. Each of our members contributes innovative ideas, determination, and a strong commitment to attracting jobs, investments, and growth to our community,” he stated.
Salinas also acknowledged the importance of maintaining collaborative efforts with authorities and other economic development organizations and announced that new development opportunities will be announced in early 2025, which will continue to strengthen the city’s economic growth.
The holiday event concluded with a message of unity and collaboration, a reminder of the importance of seizing the opportunities the coming year will bring for both the community and the development of Brownsville.
