The trucking industry has consolidated itself as one of the main drivers of industrial, commercial, and economic development in the city of Pharr. Every day, more than 3,000 freight trucks use the Pharr International Bridge, which has spurred the construction of distribution centers, industrial parks, and service companies, generating thousands of jobs and attracting foreign investment that strengthens regional competitiveness.
In this context, the authorities of the Pharr International Bridge have implemented actions to strengthen the trucking industry, while also promoting public policies that benefit companies linked to this activity.
With this objective, for the second consecutive year, the Truck Expo was held—an event designed to promote community among carriers, connect with service providers, and showcase technological advances and best practices in the sector.
“If it weren’t for transportation delivering the products we consume or eat to stores and markets, we wouldn’t have access to them. Freight transport is an integral part of the supply chain,” highlighted Luis Bazán, Director of the Pharr International Bridge.
Among the participating companies, Trancasa, an international transport and logistics group, emphasized the importance of these events in strengthening community ties, showcasing their services, and promoting benefits for operators with the aim of continuing to expand their workforce.
“The company behind us is Trancasa, and from there the other companies branch out: PBBP offers logistics solutions with warehouses in Mexico and the United States, while TCL Logistics holds licenses for brokerage, maritime, and air shipments—a full suite of comprehensive solutions for our clients,” explained Julia Martínez, Customer Service Manager at Trancasa.
For his part, Víctor Pérez, CEO of the Pharr Economic Development Corporation, recognized the relevance of this industry to the city’s economic growth.
“The Pharr International Bridge is number one in the crossing of fresh agricultural products, but also other goods. Everything works hand in hand: the bridge, the transport companies, and economic development. In Pharr, we tell businesses that everything is ready here to promote their products beyond Texas,” he said.
The second edition of the Truck Expo featured exhibitors and sponsors from companies providing services to the freight transportation industry. According to the organizers, the goal is to consolidate the event as an annual fixture to continue strengthening the industry and the region’s competitiveness.
