Finsa confirmed the arrival to the country of five European companies , which will be installed in three of its industrial parks located in Matamoros, Tamaulipas; Monterrey, Nuevo León, and in Aguascalientes
The industrial real estate developer announced that the investments total 215 million dollars , 113,000 square meters of industrial space , and the capacity to generate more than 4,500 direct jobs .
One of the companies is the Swedish Autoliv , which specializes in the development of safety auto parts such as belts, airbags and steering wheels , which stated that it will expand its presence in Mexico with a new manufacturing plant in the Finsa Aguascalientes Industrial Park in which will invest 60 million dollars and create 3,000 jobs .
For its part, ZF Group announced a new manufacturing and business operation in Monterrey, Nuevo León, with an investment amount of 102 million dollars to produce high-tech cameras and other electronic devices . The construction will be in the Finsa Guadalupe Industrial Park and it is expected to start operating in 2023, generating more than 850 jobs.
The Hilti company will expand its production complex located within the Finsa Matamoros Norte Industrial Park . And the manufacturing center will specialize in the manufacture of various tools used in the construction industry, such as battery implements, electric, direct fastening, anchors, installation system, construction chemicals, among others.
Sergio Argüelles, president and CEO of Finsa, declared that the expansion of these companies will be carried out by the industrial developer, which confirms the confidence that these corporations have to invest in the country.
"About a third of the operations that we have closed in the year are of European origin, reaffirming that our country is a key piece for the stabilization of supply chains as well as a strategic location due to its proximity to the US border and the excellent quality of Mexican workforce ”, he assured.
The balance between Mexico and Europe has been favored in recent decades, since the implementation in 2000 of the Free Trade Agreement between Mexico and the European Union (TLCUEM), which is part of the Global Agreement , and whose modernization is key to the consolidation of bilateral trade, especially in the manufacturing sector.
In conjunction with the Agreement between Mexico, the United States and Canada (T-MEC) , both agreements offer European companies the opportunity to integrate their supply chains to achieve industrial complementation with North America, this point being one of the most challenging in the current post-pandemic scenario.
According to data from the Ministry of Economy , in 2019 the commercial exchange between the European Union and Mexico reached a volume of around 75,000 million dollars . In the case of Germany, it has continued to be the most important export target, with our country being the main recipient of German exports in Latin America. Meanwhile, Sweden is Mexico's fourteenth trading partner of the European Union countries, with a trade that reaches almost 1,000 million dollars.
