EXO-S Manufactures plastic parts for the automotive industry

Exo-s is a Canadian company that has its Headquarters located in Sherbrooke a city close to Montreal. Exo-s has four plants: one is in Canada, two are in the USA and the new one in San Juan del Rio in the state of Queretaro, Mexico.

The SJR plant is unique since it offers all processes. Which include; Blow and Injection molding, manufacturing and maintenance of Molds, Fixtures and quality jigs. They have a Metrology laboratory to satisfy the automotive industry needs.

Exo-s is specialized on “under the hood’’ automotive plastic parts. “For the injection molding our core products are ‘Surge tank’ and engine covers, while in the blown molding our core are HVAC ducts for heating (cold) system, we do also tanks for the wipers systems,” as was explained by Francois Ouellet, director of Exo-s SJR plant. 

With a continuous technological development, Exo-s is offering their customers a complete service of designing engineering, as well as of manufacturing and repair for molds, fixture and quality jigs. As Francois proudly explain; we are a full “one stop shop’’ facility which includes a complete Metrology lab with a CMM.

“Since we arrived in SJR, in 2014, we have been working with OEM such as GM, VW, FCA and many Tiers 1. They all required high quality level and also required many certifications.

The plant is certified; IATF 16949, ISO 14001, VDA and ANPQP and others related to each client; it is worth mentioning that in May 2018 Exo-s became the first supplier of GM Mexico in obtaining the certification BIQS level 5.

Exo-s SJR produces now more than one million parts per month for the auto market. Our main focus is automotive, but we have relations with other clients.

Since we are a plastic manufacturer we know exactly how to design parts, molds and fixtures to get the best production efficiency possible. Having a mold shop facility in within the plant is giving us a competitive advantage. We can be more flexible and efficient. ‘’ said Francois director of Exo-s, plant SJR.

The plant is settled on a land of 33,000 m². The recent plant expansion of 5,400 m² will hold new equipment and it is expected to reach 300 workers by 2020. As per Exo-s Manager, the plant continue is growth in Queretaro with new clients and would like slowly entering other sectors like; medical, aerospace since it also need a very high level of value added quality; all this can be possible with our expertise and Queretaro talent.  It´s worth to mention that since our arrival in 2014 we always had very good support from local and state government.
