Estafeta invests 350 million pesos to build its new hub in Mexico; will be the largest and most automated

With an investment of 350 million pesos , the logistics company Estafeta laid the first stone of its new hub in Mexico, which is located in the “O'Donnell La Laguna” Industrial Park, in the municipality of Cuatitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico.
Operations are expected to begin in May 2022. This center will be the largest and most automated of the company in the country and, according to estimates, it is expected that around 310 jobs will be generated and could reach up to 520 in its phase. 5.
The new operating center will add 53,000 square meters in the warehouse and maneuvering yards, 142 cross dock platforms, fully automated and flexible parcel and courier classification and loading systems for handling e-commerce shipments and maximum guarantees.
From this strategic location, Estafeta will cover 61 cities in the country and will have an initial capacity of 18,000 shipments per hour, the intralogistics designed to operate in a modular and scalable way to support the growth of the operation over time.
Ingo Babrikowski , general director of Estafeta, added that this new location will be key in the strategy that the company has designed to provide the precise and close attention that clients demand.
"The Covid-19 pandemic triggered the growth of electronic commerce, online sales represent the opportunity for millions of people to start or increase their income, at Estafeta we want to support these initiatives and for this, together with investment in assets, we have been developing new services ”, he commented.
He said that, on the 42nd anniversary of its foundation, Estafeta celebrates the continuity of the legacy of service and logistics development of its founder, Gerd Grimm, with the generation of solutions designed for the client and their businesses.
Its location, in the State of Mexico, is due to the opportunity to make more agile connections with different Estafeta clients and to the optimization of its logistics network that will connect 61 cities in the country in a few hours.
