Edinburg, Texas, was showcased as the 12th fastest-growing city in the United States and the 7th in Texas during the “Edinburg Commercial Investment Tour.” The event attracted brokers, real estate developers, bankers, and corporate representatives eager to explore the city's investment potential, including infrastructure and available land for manufacturing, logistics, and commercial projects.
Among the city’s competitive advantages are its connectivity and skilled workforce, bolstered by institutions like the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), which reported over 34,000 enrolled students in the fall 2024 semester.
The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (Edinburg EDC), the event’s host, provided a tour of key investment and growth areas, including industrial parks, residential developments, and commercial hubs. Supported by Edinburg Mayor Ramiro Garza, the city also emphasized its affordable housing costs, which are up to 54% lower than other Texas cities.
Land and Incentives for Immediate Investment
Raudel Garza, Executive Director of Edinburg EDC, highlighted the availability of land as a significant advantage for attracting international investments. "We have various tracts of land ready for development, such as 600 acres near Edinburg Airport and an additional 7,500 acres across the city for residential, commercial, and industrial purposes," Garza stated.
He also outlined 10 incentive programs available to investors, including project financing, tax benefits, job creation support, legal advice, and access to memberships. Garza reaffirmed Edinburg's commitment to collaboration, emphasizing partnerships with businesses, cities, and organizations across the Rio Grande Valley region.
“Our message is clear: Edinburg is ready to welcome any investment project. We have everything necessary for businesses to thrive here,” Garza concluded.
