The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (Edinburg EDC) continues to expand its international outreach through a strategic meeting with COMCE Noreste, one of Mexico’s leading organizations dedicated to promoting foreign trade and international investment.

Jeffrey Salcedo Cantú, Business Development Manager of Edinburg EDC, met with COMCE Noreste representatives to present the city’s growth strategy and investment opportunities, reinforcing Edinburg’s positioning as a gateway for companies seeking to operate across the U.S.–Mexico border.

Strengthening Binational Economic Ties

COMCE Noreste plays a key role in connecting Mexican companies with global markets, particularly across the highly industrialized Northeast region of Mexico. Engagement with this organization provides Edinburg direct access to a network of exporters, manufacturers, and investors actively involved in cross-border commerce.

The meeting represents a coordinated effort to deepen institutional relationships that facilitate trade flows, business expansion, and supply chain integration between South Texas and Northern Mexico.

Positioning Edinburg as a Strategic Business Destination

During the discussion, Edinburg EDC outlined plans focused on economic growth, infrastructure development, and investment attraction. The city’s proximity to major border crossings, logistics networks, and industrial hubs positions it as a competitive location for companies seeking operational flexibility within the North American market.

For Mexican firms evaluating U.S. expansion, Edinburg offers advantages including access to the Texas economy, workforce availability, and connectivity to regional transportation corridors.

Advancing Regional Development Through Collaboration

The dialogue underscores the importance of proactive engagement between economic development organizations and trade councils in shaping cross-border investment strategies. As North American supply chains become increasingly integrated, partnerships between local governments and international business associations are critical for sustaining long-term growth.

By strengthening ties with COMCE Noreste, Edinburg EDC reinforces its commitment to binational collaboration and to positioning the Rio Grande Valley as a dynamic platform for trade, manufacturing, and business development.
