The city of Edinburg, Texas, boasts a variety of competitive advantages for attracting investments. Its strength in logistics, due to its strategic location in the Rio Grande Valley and the presence of industrial parks, ensures optimal planning and distribution for the sector, in addition to providing operational capacity for manufacturing spaces, stated Carlos Garza, project manager for the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (Edinburg EDC).
"Many companies are seeking the ideal location for investment, whether in manufacturing or logistics projects, and Edinburg offers all the necessary services and advantages—from industrial land to a skilled workforce with suitable infrastructure. We are highly competitive in the logistics sector thanks to our strategic connections and location,” Garza explained.
Edinburg has robust infrastructure with access to international bridges, highways, airports, and seaports within the Rio Grande Valley region, facilitating the transport of goods, manufacturing products, or raw materials into the U.S. interior or any global destination.
Its portfolio of industrial parks includes Renaissance Industrial Park, North Industrial Park, Owassa Industrial Park, and South Texas Airport Industrial Park, each ready to accommodate new investments.
For instance, Garza highlighted a major accomplishment in July this year: securing up to $10 million in investment for constructing a 200,000-square-foot logistics warehouse at North Industrial Park. This project, named “Region I Industrial,” will not only create jobs but also strengthen economic development opportunities in the region.
“We anticipate securing additional investments in both logistics and manufacturing sectors, which are key pillars for our city’s growth.”
Through Edinburg EDC, investors have access to information on industrial land availability and can bolster their workforce through various partnerships with universities, academic training centers, and regional organizations, ensuring the hiring of highly skilled personnel.
