Diversenergy
announced they will build a liquefaction plant (liquefied natural gas, LNG) in
Nuevo Leon with storage capability, supply, and truck loading terminal.
“Diversenergy’s
strategy is to liquefy build plants at a small scale in all Mexico,” said the
company.
Diversenergy
said that this standard liquefy plant at a small scale can expand to produce
more LNG and satisfy the needs of customers.
“Our objective
sites offer the opportunity of capitalizing the feasibility for liquefying of
about 30,000 to 100,000 gallons of LNG per day of plant capability,” he
explained.
It is
anticipated that the plant will be ready next year and, as of the company, it
will represent a great opportunity to increase the natural liquefy gas
distribution network.
Diversenergy
referred that for the development of this plant investment will be addressed of
20 million dollars and it is planned to produce about 30,000 gallons per day.
Moreover, it
revealed that it is part of the five or six plants that will be built in Mexico
within the upcoming years.
WHAT IS LNG?
Liquefied
natural gas (LNG) is a liquid form of natural gas, which is obtained through a
process called liquefaction.
According to
the Ministry of Energy, LNG is processed to be transported as a liquid, this
process named liquefaction consisted of submitting gas at low temperatures and
high pressures resulting in a liquid.
LNG – he said –
offers higher flexibility for the exchange in transportation through gas
pipelines, allowing natural gas cargo to be carried and delivered where the
need is higher and commercial terms are more competitive.
