COSTEP Showcases Rio South Texas Advantages to Site Selection Consultants

The Council for South Texas Economic Progress (COSTEP) participated alongside the Port of Brownsville, Cameron County, OmniTRAX, AEP Texas and Team Texas in the 2026 Team Texas Consultant Summit, an event that brought leading site selection consultants to South Padre Island and the Port of Brownsville.

The event provided an opportunity to showcase the strategic advantages of the Rio South Texas Region, including its infrastructure, multimodal connectivity and position as a key gateway for trade and investment between the United States and Mexico.

As part of the regional delegation, COSTEP presented the economic and industrial opportunities available across South Texas, connecting with consultants who play an important role in evaluating locations for new projects and business expansions.

The Summit also allowed participants to experience firsthand the region’s logistics and infrastructure assets, reinforcing its potential to attract new investment, drive economic growth and support business expansion.

Through its participation, COSTEP continues to strengthen the presence of the Rio South Texas Region among site selection professionals, promoting the region as a competitive destination for companies seeking infrastructure, connectivity and access to international markets.
