The establishment of the Port Laredo Global Trade Summit represents a new opportunity to strengthen economic promotion efforts across South Texas and build partnerships that help attract investment to the region, said Adam Gonzalez, CEO of COSTEP (Council for South Texas Economic Progress).

During the event, Gonzalez emphasized that one of COSTEP’s primary objectives is to support initiatives that showcase the economic potential of the Rio South Texas Region and strengthen collaboration among economic development organizations, businesses, and government authorities. He noted that the Port of Laredo, the leading inland port in the United States, is a strategic asset for creating new business opportunities.

“COSTEP has always been committed to promoting the region and attracting more investment. We are very pleased to see such strong attendance at this event and to see it bring together people who are here to make connections and learn about everything happening throughout our region.”

He emphasized that the growth of international trade, the development of new industrial parks, and the availability of infrastructure continue to strengthen South Texas’ competitiveness as a destination for industrial and logistics projects.

With the participation of business leaders, economic development organizations, and international trade specialists, the Port Laredo Global Trade Summit is beginning to establish itself as a platform for showcasing the region’s strengths and encouraging collaboration that drives economic development on both sides of the border.
