The Rio South Texas Economic Council (COSTEP) and INDEX Reynosa will collaborate to attract investment aimed at strengthening the Northern Border region in Tamaulipas, Mexico, and the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, USA.
During a meeting led by Adam Gonzalez, CEO of COSTEP, and Alfredo Guajardo, President of INDEX Reynosa, both leaders shared insights into the current state of the industrial sector, their vision for the future, and the challenges ahead.
In this context, they agreed to work together to provide companies interested in establishing operations in the region with the necessary support, offering reliable and secure information to ensure informed decision-making.
“For COSTEP, it is crucial to work hand in hand with local organizations because they allow us to offer a comprehensive overview to the companies we work with, enabling them to analyze and make sound decisions when establishing their operations. This collaboration helps drive the development not only of one city but of the entire region,” said Adam Gonzalez.
COSTEP’s mission is to promote Rio South Texas as a competitive destination with a highly skilled workforce for industrial development. Through partnerships with various local organizations, COSTEP provides businesses with insights into the advantages of cities from Laredo to Brownsville and from Matamoros to Nuevo Laredo, including international crossings, logistical connectivity, government incentives, and workforce capabilities.
On his part, Alfredo Guajardo emphasized that the establishment of new companies and developments in the region “is always good news, regardless of the city investors choose.” He explained that such projects are economic catalysts at the regional level, which is why partnerships like this are highly beneficial.
Both organizations, COSTEP and INDEX Reynosa, reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the region to boost economic development on both sides of the border, providing a solid platform for the establishment of new industrial facilities.
COSTEP, a nonprofit organization founded in 1972, is dedicated to fostering economic development through strategies to attract businesses and industries, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life in the region.
Similarly, INDEX Reynosa, operating since 1999, contributes to the country’s development by driving the growth of the manufacturing industry, creating conditions and opportunities to attract new investments.
