As the result of a strategic alliance aimed at strengthening trade ties between Mexico and the United States, the Mexican Council for Foreign Trade (COMCE) and the Pharr Economic Development Corporation (Pharr EDC) have joined forces to create “COMCE Binational Pharr”, a new space designed to promote the international expansion of Mexican companies.
This initiative, announced during COMCE’s tenth trade mission to the Rio Grande Valley, will be headquartered at the Pharr Global Business Hub, positioning itself as a key gateway to the U.S. market and a driver of binational economic development.
COMCE officially introduced the creation of COMCE Binational Pharr during its tenth trade mission to the Texas Valley. The new hub aims to facilitate the internationalization of Mexican businesses and will be located at the Pharr Global Business Hub solidifying it as a strategic bridge to the U.S. market.
“This is the first step in establishing a solid and permanent infrastructure to support the expansion of Mexican entrepreneurs in the United States,” said Liborio Flores, president of COMCE Zacatecas.
The new hub will provide physical office space and comprehensive services, removing the need for businesses to lease commercial premises independently. Additionally, it will offer technical and logistical support to ensure an efficient and cost-effective international expansion process.
“It won’t just be a starting point for operations, but a space where entrepreneurs will receive the support they need to succeed,” Flores emphasized.
Strategic training for the U.S. market
As part of the initiative and in collaboration with the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, a four-month online program titled "Pre-softlanding", will launch in june or july.
“This program will provide key tools from market analysis to strategies for identifying and contacting potential clients. Our goal is for entrepreneurs to arrive with concrete information and resources,” explained Flores.
Pharr: a strategic ally for internationalization
According to Víctor Pérez, CEO of Pharr EDC, COMCE’s newly established partnership highlights Pharr’s role as a vital hub for Mexican companies expanding into the U.S. market.
“Thanks to its strategic location and robust business and investment ecosystem, Pharr offers privileged access to the largest market in the world. Our city is the gateway for Mexican entrepreneurs, and at the Economic Development Corporation, we are fully committed to supporting their growth and success,” said Pérez.
With infrastructure designed to ease international expansion and a preparatory program offering essential tools, the creation of COMCE Binational Pharr will significantly boost the internationalization of Mexican businesses positioning Pharr, Texas as a strategic bridge to the U.S. market.
