Creative Liquid Coating (CLC) celebrated its first-ever Quality Week from November 17 to 21 at its Brownsville facility—an initiative that not only strengthened internal culture but also highlighted the company’s growing role in the Texas–Mexico manufacturing ecosystem.

The week began with a special visit from Ubaldo Quintanilla, Supplier Quality Manager at PACCAR, who joined CLC’s leadership for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official launch of the event. His presence underscored the strategic relationship between both companies and the importance of elevating quality across the binational supply chain.

“This initiative promotes a culture of quality from leadership down to operators,” Quintanilla said. “The goal is for everyone to embrace it so the customer receives quality from the very beginning.”

PACCAR relies on CLC for components such as truck bumpers and side fairings used in Peterbilt and Kenworth units. According to Quintanilla, CLC’s professionalism, consistency, and border-region location have kept the partnership strong.

“They’re in an ideal midpoint,” he noted. “Their position on the border allows them to manufacture high-quality products at reasonable costs and deliver to our plants with efficient lead times.”

Celebrating People, Pride, and Ownership

Inside the plant, CLC’s workforce enjoyed a week filled with prizes, activities, and team-building initiatives focused on reinforcing the company’s quality-first mindset.

Plant Coordinator Luis Santos, Quality Manager, shared that strengthening engagement and a sense of belonging is at the core of CLC’s progress.

“When the team feels valued, we naturally produce at a higher level,” he said.

Santos also highlighted a new initiative giving employees a more active role in CLC’s identity: participating in the design of the company’s new mascot. The project invites workers to contribute ideas to CLC’s branding, giving them ownership in the company’s evolution.

Plant Manager Yajahira Foutch added a family-centered touch to the celebration:

“We’re trying to keep it fun with our employees. During Quality Week, we’re bringing the trailers so employees can show their kids what they do—and so their children can proudly say, ‘My mom or dad manufactured that piece.’”

Quality as a Collective Discipline

Throughout the year, CLC has strengthened key quality indicators, reducing defects and stabilizing performance across the plant.

“Last year brought challenges, but we still closed within target. This year, we’re pushing ourselves to exceed it,” Santos said.

Quality Week became a moment to recognize those improvements while reinforcing the message that excellence is built daily—piece by piece, shift by shift.

A Strategic Position in a Growing Corridor

Located minutes from the international crossings, CLC is positioned to serve both Texas-based manufacturers and Matamoros maquiladoras with speed and reliability. As nearshoring grows, this agility places the company at an advantage within the Brownsville–Matamoros corridor.

“Our location keeps us agile and dependable for clients who require quality and precise timing,” Santos added.

As CLC moves into the next year, the focus remains on refining processes, exploring new technologies, and strengthening a culture where employees play an active role in shaping the company’s future.

Quality Week was more than a celebration—it was a statement of who CLC is becoming: a binational partner built on consistency, leadership, and a shared commitment to excellence.
