BMW makes changes in the direction of the San Luis Potosí Plant

The Steering Committee of BMW Group Plant San Luis Potosi , announced the change of Jörg Willimayer , current president and CEO of the German shipbuilder, who will no longer occupy this position from the 1st of October.

In an official statement, they indicated that for personal reasons the representative of the company in Mexico will return to the European country to continue his professional career within the BMW Group , so he will continue to share his knowledge and high level of experience within the production network. global brand.

In February, the CEO of the assembly plant located in the state of Potosí, took the direction and leadership of the BMW Group San Luis Potosí Plant , which is why in these seven months the production flexibility of the BMW 3 Series significantly increased. 

During his stay in the Potosi state, Jörg Willimayer led important projects for the company such as the start of the production of connectable hybrid vehicles at the Mexican plant; the production and export outside the American region of the first BMW 3 Series vehicles to countries such as Japan, Russia, Australia and Germany ; the production of unit 50,000 ; the successful and safe restart of the shipowner's operations after closure due to the health contingency. 

BMW Group San Luis Potosí Plant indicated that the successor of Jörg Willimayer will be announced in the near future. 

ABOUT THE PRESIDENT

Jörg Willimayer began his career with the BMW Group in 2007 at the Landshut plant, Germany, since then he has held various responsibilities in the areas of production, quality management, purchasing and supplier network. Prior to his arrival in Mexico, he held the position of Senior Vice President of Purchasing and Supplier Network of BMW AG
