In an effort to establish joint work schemes that foster economic development, investment, and job creation in both regions, the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (Edinburg EDC) has strengthened its collaboration with the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade (COMCE) from the Northeast delegation.
Raudel Garza, Executive Director of Edinburg EDC, emphasized that Edinburg, which shares a border with Mexico, is a key city for the provision of various services including manufacturing, logistics, professional services, and retail. Mexican businesses are seen as strategic partners in international trade processes, making Edinburg a vital link in commercial relations between the two nations.
This strategic partnership aims to identify and develop economic opportunities while implementing long-term programs that promote binational growth. Local government officials, including Edinburg Mayor Ramiro Garza, along with Edinburg EDC board members Dan Díaz and Aaron Rivera, also participated in the meeting.
Representatives from COMCE Northeast included Andrés Franco Zaldívar, General Director, and Armando Guerra Cantú, Director of Commercial Intelligence. The collaboration is expected to enhance cross-border trade, benefiting both regions.
Edinburg, located in the Rio Grande Valley region, shares a border with the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, which, along with Nuevo León and Coahuila, is part of the region represented by COMCE.
