Audi Mexico will produce a new model in Puebla

Audi Mexico announced that it will invest in its Puebla plant to manufacture the new Audi Q5 Sportback . The company also plans to produce the successor to the Audi Q5 in the medium term.
Since its inception, the auto company has demonstrated its ability to constantly develop. For example, in 2019 it presented the Audi Q5 TFSI , the first plug-in hybrid car of Mexican production . With this, the plant contributes to the electrification strategy and to the international competitiveness of the German Group.
With the start of production of the Audi Q5 optimized during 2020 and the investments for the manufacture of the Audi Q5 Sportback , Audi Mexico guarantees the future of the plant, as well as the jobs in our country.
Additionally, the Mexican plant is in the decision process, together with the Group , to define whether the San José Chiapa plant will be the one to carry out the production of the successor vehicle to the current Audi Q5 , a completely renovated model.
If decided at the group level by Audi Mexico , the plant located in Puebla would receive investments of hundreds of millions of dollars to keep this complex at the highest level of competitiveness.
Dr. Tarek Mashhour, CEO of Audi Mexico, said that Audi's factory in Mexico is the youngest and one of the most modern of the company worldwide. Therefore, they remain enthusiastic in continuing with investments in the San José Chiapa region.
“We want to promote development in the area where the plant is located, and in the state of Puebla in general. This is only achieved through constructive cooperation, where openness and the confidence of the private sector and the government prevail ”, he assured.
Niels Bosse, vice president of Human Resources and Organization, specified that Audi Mexico has more than 5,200 employees who contribute to the correct operation of the factory. And for this reason, young people are constantly trained to introduce them to the automotive world through their dual education program .
Since the arrival of Audi México , one of the main objectives and challenges has been caring for the environment. The global Mission: Zero program has a consistently sustainable production as its goal. While the main focus is the decarbonization of all its plants , the correct use of water, an efficient use of resources and biodiversity.
