The McAllen series consists of deep, well drained, moderately permeable soils that formed in calcareous loamy sediments. These soils are on nearly level to gently sloping uplands.
These characteristics allow different activities to be carried out, they are even considered suitable for agriculture and livestock.
Another virtue of these soils is that they are rich in organic matter.
The McAllen/Reynosa series consists of sandy and clay loam. The parent material consists of calcareous loamy alluvium.
