The Economic Development Corporation of Weslaco (Weslaco EDC) has unveiled a new logo, slogan, mission and vision as part of a broader strategy to strengthen its position as a business and investment destination in the Rio Grande Valley.
The new logo features an upward-reaching “W” representing Weslaco, economic progress and the community at the center of the organization’s work. A green leaf symbolizes emerging opportunities, business growth and investments creating long-term impact, while also paying tribute to Weslaco’s agricultural heritage. The new slogan, “Growing Business. Cultivating Community.”, highlights the connection between business development and community prosperity.
Beyond the new logo, Weslaco EDC is reinforcing its focus on industrial recruitment, strategic investment, business expansion and quality job creation. Over the past three fiscal years, the organization has supported 96 projects, helped create 1,070 jobs and generated $59.7 million in capital investment, providing a foundation for its next stage of economic development.
“This new identity reflects both the economic momentum we are experiencing and the future we are working to cultivate. It communicates to businesses and investors that Weslaco has fostered and witnessed sustainable growth, while reaffirming our commitment to creating quality jobs, supporting local businesses and ensuring that investment produces lasting benefits for our community,” said Steven M. Valdez, executive director of Weslaco EDC.
For companies, developers and site selectors evaluating expansion opportunities in South Texas, Weslaco offers access to key transportation infrastructure and industrial sites. The Mid Valley International Industrial Park provides 122 buildable acres, with direct access to IH-2 and proximity to international ports of entry, creating opportunities for industrial and logistics projects serving markets across South Texas and Mexico.
With the new logo and renewed messaging, Weslaco EDC is positioning the city as a forward-moving economic development partner for companies seeking to invest, expand or establish operations in the Rio Grande Valley. The organization also continues to support workforce training, entrepreneurship and business assistance programs designed to strengthen the local business ecosystem and help companies move projects forward.
