Two companies interested in El Progreso Park in NLD

After five years that the El Progreso Park was founded, this 2020 could be a reality that the first company is placed in this space that the Municipal Government of Nuevo Laredo has to offer to investors in the manufacturing industry sector.

The Secretary of Economic Development, Martín Reyes Madrigal, mentioned that two companies are extremely interested and that one of them is about to complete its installation in this space.

“We have been having an approach with investors, we already have two options, one of them is very advanced with respect to installing a plant in El Progreso Park, and the competitive advantages that it would offer to be a few kilometers are being requested approximately five hectares to develop -from one hectare to one and a half hectares-, a plant that will produce solar panels, ”he said.

Reyes Madrigal commented that the offer of the World Trade Bridge land via the Mex II highway - in addition to having within reach one of the largest housing centers in Nuevo Laredo such as Territorial Reserves -, is an attraction that one of the companies of Asian origin took into account to choose to bring their capital to this port.

"I think it is a proposal that is going to be very firm and that in the coming months we could be talking that it would be a reality, which as we remember, has a lot of time with 40 hectares waiting for possible investments," said Reyes Madrigal.

He mentioned that the company has all the information regarding this municipal industrial park, so it contemplates it would not take long to make the decision.

“We have the approach in terms of seeing the conditions of the land, the accessibleness of Mex II, we are presenting all the feasibility studies, environmental manifestations, studies of soil use and mechanics, data that allow the company to value the investment in this field, ”he explained.

Martín Reyes Madrigal commented that this first step is expected to bring various economic benefits.

"It is still an important impact in terms of investment and job creation, they speak of a generation close to 300 direct jobs," he said.

The investment would be approximately 40 million dollars for an industrial building of 10,000 square meters, so the official stressed the importance of specifying this firm.
