Texas continues to demonstrate the depth and resilience of its economy as new employment records underscore the state’s capacity to generate jobs and attract talent at scale. Recent labor market data highlights a workforce that is not only growing, but doing so at a pace that outperforms national trends—reinforcing Texas’ position as one of the most competitive economic environments in the United States.

According to the latest employment figures, Texas reached its largest labor force on record, totaling 15.9 million people, while the number of Texans working—including self-employed individuals—climbed to 15.26 million, the highest level in the state’s history. These milestones reflect sustained population growth, strong labor participation, and continued demand across diverse industries.

Job Growth Outpacing National Trends

Employment expansion in Texas continues to exceed national averages. Nonfarm employment reached 14.32 million jobs, with steady monthly gains reinforcing a long-term growth trajectory. On an annual basis, Texas added 146,300 jobs, more than any other U.S. state, and expanded at a rate 0.4 percentage points faster than the national job growth average.

This performance highlights the state’s ability to absorb new investment, support business expansion, and generate employment opportunities across sectors ranging from manufacturing and logistics to technology, energy, and professional services.

A Competitive and Stable Labor Environment

Despite strong job creation and workforce expansion, Texas has maintained a relatively low unemployment rate. At 4.2%, the state’s unemployment level remains below the national average of 4.6%, signaling a balanced labor market that continues to offer opportunities while sustaining stability.

The combination of workforce availability, job creation, and competitive labor conditions remains a key factor behind Texas’ ability to attract corporate relocations, expansions, and long-term capital investment.

A Workforce Driving Long-Term Growth

Texas’ labor market performance is more than a short-term indicator—it reflects structural strengths built around talent availability, business-friendly conditions, and economic diversification. The state’s ability to set new employment records while maintaining momentum across multiple industries reinforces its reputation as a place where companies can scale and workers can build long-term careers.

As investment flows continue and industries evolve, Texas’ expanding workforce remains a central pillar supporting innovation, productivity, and sustained economic growth.
