SEG Automotive announces its expansion plans at the Lerma plant

SEG Automotive reinforces its commitment to the Mexican automotive industry, by informing the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco) that it has expansion plans to strengthen the economic reactivation and the generation of jobs in the State of Mexico. 

At this event, executives from the global supplier company presented their production processes and growth strategies; since in the Lerma Plant they are dedicated to the manufacture of starter motors, generators and mild hybrid components for commercial and passenger vehicles.

It should be noted that SEG Automotive has had a presence in Mexico for 50 years, and in this factory they have 587 employees; which together promote strategies to protect the environment, reducing carbon dioxide emissions in their propulsion technologies for both passenger and commercial cars. 

During a tour of the facilities of this company, Pablo Peralta García, head of Sedeco, said that the government of the State of Mexico is implementing strategies to boost the business sector, so that it generates better post-pandemic economic growth.

“SEG Automotive is an example that committed, serious work, with quality and competitiveness, allows it to successfully exceed its objectives. And as a result of the importance of the sector in the entity, Sedeco will monitor the automotive sector, considered one of the most important drivers of the Mexican economy, ”he stated.

For his part, Octavio Arana, plant manager of SEG Automotive Lerma , highlighted the attention of the state authorities, which supported the vaccination against Covid-19 of workers.

During the tour of the plant, Enrique González, general director of industry, and Sergio Hernández, director of industry of Sedeco, were also present.
