The Rio Grande Valley region in Texas is connected by 50 direct flights to Austin, Dallas, and Houston. These nonstop routes highlight the commercial dynamism between the area and the rest of Texas, facilitated by the International Airports in McAllen, Harlingen, and Brownsville-South Padre Island, and operated by four airlines: United Airlines, American Airlines, Southwest, and Delta.

One of the airports handling the most daily flights is McAllen International Airport, offering up to 19 flights daily to Dallas, Houston, and Austin, serviced by Delta, United, and American Airlines. The McAllen-Austin connection, operated by Delta, offers three flights a day. In comparison, United manages seven daily flights to Houston, and American Airlines provides between seven and nine flights to Dallas, according to Jeremy Santoscoy, Director of Aviation at the airport.
