Panel Rey opens plant in Texas and accelerates Mexican manufacturing expansion in the U.S.

Monterrey-based company Panel Rey inaugurated a new plant in Denton, Texas, as part of its expansion strategy in the United States and within the framework of its 40th anniversary celebration in the construction industry.

The company, founded in 1986, is currently the largest gypsum board producer in Latin America. In addition to its operations in Mexico, it has a presence in the United States, Canada, Central America and South America, with five production plants in Mexico and as part of Grupo PROMAX.

The opening of the Texas plant was supported by the State of Texas Mexico Office, part of Texas Economic Development, which collaborated with the company in the site selection process for the expansion of its operations in U.S. territory.

Panel Rey strengthens its industrial presence in the United States

The project also involved the Projects Office of Governor Abbott’s Office and Panel Rey’s Strategic Projects team, which evaluated different options within the state to strengthen service for customers in the U.S. market.

The inauguration event was attended by Nicolas Alverde, CEO of Grupo PROMAX; Gerard Hudspeth, Mayor of Denton; and James S. Taylor, Director of the State of Texas Mexico Office, as well as local authorities, distributors, contractors and company executives.

Grupo PROMAX drives the expansion of Mexican manufacturing in North America

Grupo PROMAX stated that the expansion represents a new stage for the company, which began more than a century ago as a family business and today operates as a privately held Mexican conglomerate focused on gypsum board manufacturing and zinc transformation.

Texas highlighted that Panel Rey chose the state as a strategic ally to strengthen its growth in North America.
