Centinela Property has opened its new industrial park, Reynosa Centinela East Industrial Park, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, with an initial investment of $40 million.

The development, spanning 57 hectares, is designed to boost the industrial growth of the region, positioning the city as a strategic hub for expanding industrial and logistics operations. In its first phase, two buildings of up to 250,000 square feet each were built, adhering to high quality and sustainability standards.

Misael Pecina Martínez, Chief Operations Officer at Centinela Property, explained that one of the primary advantages of the new park is its strategic location, close to the Pharr International Bridge and with direct access to the Reynosa-Matamoros bypass. The park offers “Build-to-Suit” options, meaning custom-built facilities catering to the specific demands of logistics and manufacturing companies, with spaces up to 800,000 square feet.

“This approach allows companies to benefit from tailor-made facilities designed to optimize their operations and meet specific needs,” Pecina emphasized.

Green Buildings to Achieve Sustainability Goals

The buildings have been certified by the LEED Green Building Council (USGBC), facilitating the installation of solar panels and supporting companies in meeting their sustainability goals. “We promote the use of renewable energy and ensure adherence to the highest standards, allowing companies to position themselves as industry leaders,” Pecina Martínez noted.

Another competitive advantage of the park is its electrical supply, with a capacity of 11,000 KVA, ensuring reliable and consistent service.

Through this project, Centinela Property reinforces its strong track record in the industrial real estate sector and continues to establish itself as a key player in the development of industrial infrastructure in Reynosa and other strategic areas of the country.

The opening event included executives from Hitachi Energy, who highlighted the upcoming launch of their new manufacturing plant at Reynosa Centinela East Park. The Japanese company will produce distribution transformers at the new facility. “This plant will enable us to meet the growing electricity demand in North America,” they stated.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by special guests and local officials, including Carlos Víctor Peña, Mayor of Reynosa; Mauricio Treviño Garza, Secretary of Economic Development of Tamaulipas; Daniel Sosa Carpio, State Delegate of the Ministry of Economy.

Representatives from Centinela Property included Samantha Almaguer, Commercial Manager; Rodrigo Berrospe, Construction Manager; Rosario Espinosa, Northeast Zone Assets Manager; and Misael Pecina Martínez, Chief Operations Officer. Hitachi Energy was represented by Víctor Garza, Plant Manager at the Reynosa facility.
