The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) has announced a major project that will fuel the city’s economic growth: the official acquisition of the historic Echo Hotel by Zoho Corporation, a global software company headquartered in Austin, Texas.
Zoho plans to transform the iconic property into a modern office campus, marking a significant expansion of its operations in the Rio Grande Valley. The company is widely recognized for its suite of online business applications, used by both small businesses and large enterprises to streamline management and operations.
"At EEDC, we work every day to bring projects like this to life," said Raudel Garza, Executive Director of the EEDC. "We are thrilled to welcome a company of Zoho's caliber to Edinburg. Their investment not only strengthens our local economy, but also opens the door to new opportunities for innovation, talent development, and community growth."
The Echo Hotel, a site deeply rooted in Edinburg’s history, will be carefully renovated to reflect Zoho’s mission and its commitment to education and workforce development.
“The plans for the Echo Hotel property are truly exciting for our community,” said Edinburg Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr. “This is about bringing new life to a beloved landmark, turning it into a hub of jobs, technology, and innovation for our city. Zoho’s corporate culture aligns perfectly with the spirit of our city, a four-time All-America City awardee, and we are proud to welcome them to Edinburg.”
The EEDC has closely collaborated with Zoho’s leadership team to support the Echo Hotel property renovation, helping to solidify Edinburg as a prime destination for investment and growth.
