Texas’ manufacturing industry is undergoing a stage of transformation driven by automation, artificial intelligence and the growth of regional supply chains. In this context, the 25th edition of the South Central Texas Manufacturing Trade Show & Conference brought together manufacturers, technology providers and industrial leaders in San Antonio to strengthen South Texas’ manufacturing ecosystem.

Organized by the San Antonio Manufacturers Association (SAMA), the event achieved record participation, with more than 175 exhibitors and strong attendance from companies linked to advanced manufacturing, automation, logistics, cybersecurity and industrial solutions.

Dan Yoxall, CEO of SAMA, highlighted that this edition exceeded expectations and reaffirmed the importance of manufacturing for regional economic development.

“We are very excited to celebrate our 25th consecutive edition. We have sold out all available spaces and have excellent participation from the industry,” he said.

The executive explained that one of the event’s main objectives is to increase the visibility of the manufacturing sector and generate strategic connections among supplier companies, manufacturers and industrial service providers.

“The goal is to connect manufacturers with one another, create business opportunities and showcase the value that manufacturing brings to our region,” he said.

Technology and artificial intelligence drive advanced manufacturing

One of the central topics of the conference was the adoption of Manufacturing 4.0 technologies, including artificial intelligence, industrial automation and robotics.

During the event, specialized companies presented solutions focused on operational efficiency, process automation and supply chain optimization.

“We are seeing how technology is transforming manufacturing. Artificial intelligence and automation help improve processes, increase productivity and create new specialized job opportunities,” Yoxall said.

The exhibition included demonstrations of industrial robotics, cybersecurity solutions, intelligent automation and new digital tools for manufacturing plants.

San Antonio strengthens its manufacturing growth

Mikal Harn, a member of SAMA’s board of directors, said this edition has been the most successful in the event’s history due to the growth of the manufacturing industry in San Antonio and South Texas.

“This is our best year so far. People are excited to see the growth of manufacturing in San Antonio and discover new opportunities to expand their businesses,” he said.

Harn noted that the conferences addressed key topics for industrial competitiveness, including organizational culture, business performance measurement, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

He also emphasized the importance of networking within the event:

“It is a great opportunity to learn about new technologies, connect with suppliers and discover trends that are changing the industry,” he explained.

Manufacturing faces global challenges

The conference program also addressed topics related to talent retention, supply chains, international trade and global economic challenges currently impacting the manufacturing industry.

Dan Yoxall acknowledged that companies are facing significant challenges related to tariffs, labor competition and logistics disruptions.

“We want to help manufacturers find solutions, strengthen their businesses and improve their competitiveness,” he said.

For his part, Bill Rafferty, regional director of the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC), highlighted that events like this help bring new technologies and tools closer to manufacturing companies of all sizes.

“Here we see technologies focused on productivity, automation and operational efficiency. It is a very convenient opportunity for companies to learn about solutions they can implement in their operations,” he said.

A key event for Texas’ manufacturing industry

The South Central Texas Manufacturing Trade Show & Conference has consolidated its position as one of the most important industrial gatherings in Texas, bringing together manufacturers, technology companies and sector leaders every year.

With more than two decades of history, the event continues to position itself as a strategic platform to promote innovation, collaboration and growth within the manufacturing industry.
